Glarryg

My name is Glarryg and I am 20 years old as of the year 2000. I go to school in Ohio and have been writing only for the last few years. Fanfic writing looks like one of the best ways for an amateur to get some exposure and some feedback, so don't hesitate to offer me some (constructive) criticism on my work.

Chrono Trigger Fanfiction
ReviewedParasite: Prologue- This was my first attempt at fan fiction. At one point in the storyline of the game, your party has the option to partake in several side quests in order to gain valuable combat experience and acquire the most powerful weapons available to them. This story fits within the original plot as one of those possible side quests. I had originally intended for this to be a stand-alone story, but inspiration kicked in and I quickly devised a much larger plot. Thus, the below tale, which was going to be "Parasite" on its own, became the prologue to a bigger piece. I hope you like it.
Chapter 1 - June 27th, 2000

ReviewedParasite: Part 1- Here is the first of the three main parts to the Parasite epic. While the Prologue is set in the middle of the game, Part one begins after the end of the original storyline. To briefly recap how Chrono Trigger ends: the gang defeats Lavos in a glorious battle. After returning home, Crono is hailed as a hero by King Guardia for saving the past, present, and future. Truce village celebrates the last day of the Millenial Fair with the Moonlight Parade, and Crono's friends return to their respective eras. But before the final Time Gate closes, Crono's mother chases the family cat and accidentally falls in. Crono, Lucca, and Marle race off in the Epoch to find her just as the King unveils a new bell for the town square in Marle's honor. Thus begins the tale of the Parasite...

ReviewedParasite: Part 2- Well, if you're here, you've probably already read the Prologue and Part One of Parasite. But to quickly recap the events up to this point: after finding Crono's mother in the year 600 A.D., Crono, Lucca, and Marle come home to a much different year 1000. It seems as though the Mystics are once again the enemies of the humans, and have cast a curse upon the world. Melchior tells the gang that the "Curse of the Mystics" was invoked four hundred years previously and involves a monster periodically rising to destroy civilization. A quick search for Frog in that era leads the group to discover that Ozzie, former right-hand man to Magus, has recruited a new army and revived the giant worm Helminthes in an attempt to wreak his vengeance on the human race. A suave mercenary named Meridio runs into the gang and joins them as they battle Mystic nobleman Cossack and Helminthes amidst the destruction of Sandorino Village. Now, defeated by their gigantic adversary, they must find another way to combat a creature that absorbs everything they throw at it.

ReviewedParasite: Part 3- The stage has been set for the final act. After an unsuccessful bid to earn the use of Magic for their new ally, Crono and company decide to fetch Robo so he can help them combat their enemy. Upon learning that the Robo of the altered future is less of a combatant than his previous incarnation, the gang is told that they have another option towards their goal. If they can procure special talismans forged by Melchior, they can summon an ancient fighting technique that Helminthes cannot absorb. When they return to Crono's present, the group learns that Helminthes has been "programmed" to seek Crono out. The monster appears in a nearby town, and Crono, Meridio, and Marle head out to intercept it. In the ensuing fight, Meridio forces himself to summon his Magical abilities, and Crono is severely wounded. Now, with Crono bedridden, the rest of the gang heads off for battle in the year 600...

ReviewedParasite: Epilogue- Although the monster Helminthes has been destroyed, and the Curse of the Mystics eliminated with it, there is more to this tale. Helminthes' creator, the wizard Magus, left Crono and company long ago to look for his sister. Will the results of a fruitless search drive him to desperate ends, or will the former prince of Zeal find a niche for himself in a world forever altered by the presence of Lavos? What follows is not only the settling of one last piece of the Helminthes puzzle, but an introspective into the character that is Magus.

ReviewedReflection- Below is a story especially for Chrono Trigger aficionados. I've taken one moment out of the game and expanded on it; while this is not a new practice, I believe that nobody has used this particular scene before. We will delve into the mind of one of what I consider to be the lesser appreciated characters of the game, and see a personal history that rivals even the most tragic of the heroes of Chrono Trigger. You'll never look at this character the same way again after reading this. Of course, you won't know who this character is until the end. I hope you like it.

Legend of Mana Fanfiction
Micael- One of the most attractive aspects of Legend of Mana is the variety of interesting characters populating the world of Fa'Diel. Of these, the race of Jumi may be the most popular. This story takes place before the events of the game and involves an unmentioned Jumi who is given a responsibility, and a chance to prove his worth to his people and himself.

Secret of Mana Fanfiction
ReviewableManmon- Is there a famous quote by somebody somewhere about greed consuming a person's soul? If it's not written down in an easily-digested packet, then maybe this story will help drive that idea home.

This is my first Secret of Mana-based story. I took too long to finally get one finished. Anyway, this story basically (read: hopefully) speaks for itself. If you're familiar with the original plot of SoM, and know who the greedy King Manmon of Gold Isle is, then you'll probably like my take on what happens to him after the events in the game.
